Green ERA Sustainability is a food-recycling facility using anaerobic digestion processing. The facility will
give food waste diverted from landfills a second life, by converting it to renewable natural gas and
fertilizer for urban farming. The company is located on the South Side of Chicago on a formerly vacant 9-
acre brownfield that is now also the home of a not-for-profit urban farm and community education center.
